Thomas K. Chandy, D.O.Adolescent & Adult Psychiatrist, TMS Specialist
Dr. Thomas Chandy is a psychiatrist specializing in Adult and Adolescent Psychiatry, with special focus on Lifestyle Psychiatry, Interventional Psychiatry, and whole-person mental health care. His passion helps patients feel deeply understood, supported, and empowered throughout their treatment journey.
Born in the UK, Dr. Chandy has been in Southern California since age three, with volunteer experiences in India shaping his commitment to service, compassion, and understanding people and their families, communities, and life stories. His degrees include Urban Studies & Architectural History at Cornell University and a Masters in City and Regional Planning, with a medical degree from Rocky Vista University in UT. His diverse background allows him to relate easily to people from all walks of life.
Before entering medicine, Dr. Chandy spent over a decade developing medical education platforms, including WikiDoc.org (Harvard Medical School), PocketMedicine.com, VeoMed, the Columbia Univ. Psychopharmacology Forum, and RadX. This experience strengthened his skills in education, collaboration and providing practical tools for patients and clinicians.
Dr. Chandy is completing psychiatry training at Loma Linda University (LLU), which has a mission of compassionate, whole-person care. His interests include treatment-resistant depression, neuromodulation, transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), and biomarker research. He serves as Academic and Wellness Chief Resident, and was awarded a research grant for the GRASP project at LLU, focused on improving patient care for treatment-resistant depression.
At Advanced TMS Center, Dr. Chandy brings a thoughtful, compassionate, and evidence-based care approach. He believes in treating the whole person, not just symptoms, and works closely to help patients understand their goals, lifestyles, strengths, and challenges.
